Healthy San Francisco provides affordable health care services to uninsured people living in San Francisco. It’s an innovative way for uninsured San Franciscans to get basic, ongoing, quality medical care, including:
- Preventive, Routine, and Specialty Care
- Prescription Medicines
- Hospital Care
- Alcohol and Substance Use Treatment
- Mental Health Care
- Ambulance Services
- Laboratory Services and Tests
- Family Planning Services
You may qualify for Healthy San Francisco if you are ALL of the following:
- A San Francisco resident
- Age 18 or over
- Uninsured
- Not eligible for public insurance programs such as Medi-Cal or Medicare
- Living in a household with an income at or below 500% of the Federal Poverty Level
If eligible, you may enroll in Healthy San Francisco regardless of immigration status, employment status or pre-existing medical conditions.
Healthy San Francisco is not insurance, as it does not meet the minimum requirements for health insurance. This means that you may have to pay a penalty for being uninsured when you file your taxes. If you qualify for health insurance, it is a better option than Healthy San Francisco because it offers more benefits and services. Healthy San Francisco will also not provide coverage outside of San Francisco.
